140 years ago, Mr SCHAAL established his activity of chocolatier on the edges of the Ill river, in Strasbourg, in the middle of the historical quarter of the “Petite France”

Heir of a long family Know-How, the artisan develops the manufacturing of chocolate delicacies. Very quickly, the success has been achieved.
The house made products delight several generations of gourmets.

Passionated by his work, Mr SCHAAL knew how to take advantage of a performance and modern production tool. Surrounded of authentic squad of chocolatiers, he will supply soon the shops of his colleagues with custom-made high quality products. So he becomes the Chocolatier des Chocolatiers.

The Burrus family, in the Maison SCHAAL’s head since 1967

In 1967, the family Burrus, who stands out in the chocolate sector since 1912, buys the SCHAAL Chocolate Factory. 

In 1970, in order to increase  its development, she built new buildings in the outskirts of Strasbourg. The adapted production tools and the accessibility to the site, the respect of the Know-How and the will to improve will significantly intensify the initial success.

Since, the SCHAAL chocolatier saga continues. 

The factory has growing, its offer now covers various and demanding skills with several hundreds of items, all more delicious  as the others. 

The values of authenticity, taste search, of generosity and of proximity remain the same.
